No vaccinations are necessary. However, it is advisable to check that boosters are up-to-date.

 

There are practically no mosquitoes in Namibia except in the far North and the Okavango Delta, where malaria protection is recommended in the case of extended stays. In this these areas, at sundown, it is best to dress in light-coloured clothes that cover the body and to use mosquito repellent.

 

Medical equipment and hospitals are modern and efficient, particularly in the main towns.

 

AIDS, as everywhere in Africa, is widespread.
